JULIE CASSO NEW DIRECTOR OF GREAT FALLS SCHOOL OF ART AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF GFFFTA

For Immediate Release, November 5, 2012, Great Falls, VA 

Great Falls Foundation for the Arts (GFFFTA) today announced the appointment of Julie Casso as the Executive Director of the Foundation and as the new Director of the Great Falls School of Art.  Ms. Casso will manage the School and its exciting offerings of art instruction classes and art workshops for adults and children.  As Executive Director, Ms. Casso will advise and coordinate the activities of the Foundation’s committees, including development, events, web site, long term planning and facilities. Ms. Casso comes to GFFFTA from a career with non-profit associations and community volunteer and program development roles in Great Falls.  Of the many positions she has held locally, most notable are Celebrate Great Falls 4th of July Parade Chair, Friends of the Great Falls Library Chair, PTA President of Forestville Elementary, and Co-Chair of the Parent Advisory Committee of Village Green Day School.  Ms. Casso looks forward to working with the amazing artists and the GFFFTA Board to continue to bring art to Great Falls and move toward the creation of a Community Center for the Arts.

(GFFFTA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide quality art education for children and adults through the Great Falls School of Art, exhibition space for local and regional artists, and rental studio space to artists through the Artists’ Atelier.  Its goal is to establish a center for the arts in Great Falls and to have art as a thriving, accessible element of our community.
