MCCP Foundation Celebrates Milestone of $1 million in Care Provided to Uninsured Children in Fairfax County
MCLEAN, VA – February 21, 2013 – The Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP) Foundation is proud to announce that it has provided over $1 million of medical and dental care to Fairfax County’s children in low income, uninsured families.
The MCCP Foundation will be marking this milestone at their annual Dress Up with Grown-Ups Gala on April 6. The MC will be Charles Mann, former Redskin, three-time Super Bowl champion, businessman and philanthropist.
The gala will be held at The Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel located on George Mason University’s campus. Welcoming remarks will be presented by Dr. Ángel Cabrera, President of GMU.
Gala attendees are welcome to bring their children or grandchildren for an elegant evening of dining, dancing and fun. There are still opportunities for corporate sponsors to support children’s health and become an important part of this initiative.
Early gala sponsors already include: Kaiser Permanente, Jones Lang LaSalle, Quest Diagnostics, INOVA, ICF International, Reston Hospital Center and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.
Margery Leveen Sher, MCCP Foundation’s executive director, enthusiastically thanked early sponsors by stating, “These companies are excellent corporate citizens and we profusely thank each of them for stepping up to the plate quickly to support The MCCP Foundation. In addition to becoming a 'Golden Stethoscope' sponsor, Kaiser Permanente cares for 1,400 Fairfax County children annually at no charge.
"Jones Lang LaSalle, Quest Diagnostics, INOVA, ICF International are all Silver Sling sponsors and fabulous supporters both financially and with volunteer time. Reston Hospital Center and CareFirst are Bronze Bandaids and wonderful partners.”
She added, “We hope many other companies will support this event through these or one of the other levels of sponsorships so that all children receive the medical and dental care they need!”
What makes MCCP so unique is that it is truly a public, private partnership that includes Fairfax County government; the corporate and foundation communities, the medical and dental communities, as well as many incredibly supportive individuals.
