McLean & Langley HS Football Playoff Possibility
The McLean and Langley high school football teams would earn playoff bids if the postseason began this week, according to the latest Virginia High School League football ratings (http://www.vhsl.org/football-ratings)
McLean (4-4) and Langley (4-4) are currently tied as the sixth seeds in the Northern Region.
Perennial powerhouse Stone Bridge (8-0) and Madison (7-1) are currently ranked one and two in the VHSL ratings. Yorktown (8-0) is ranked third.
Six state champions are crowned each year in Virginia football - Divisions 1 and 2 (Group A schools), Divisions 3 and 4 (Group AA) and Divisions 5 and 6 (Group AAA).
Here is a look at the VHSL ratings released Oct. 22 for the Northern region. The top eight schools advance . Overall record is first followed by VHSL rating.
