Barbara Comstock Scheduled to Address RNC Convention

Comstock is slated to speak at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Tampa.

Tune into coverage of the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday afternoon and you're likely to see a local McLean face.

Del. Barbara Comstock (R-34th), who represents parts of McLean, Great Falls, Vienna and Herndon in the Virginia General Assembly, is scheduled to speak Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Comstock was originally scheduled to speak Monday afternoon, but Tropical Storm Isaac, currently cutting a path through Gulf of Mexico, forced convention organizers to re-schedule the time slot for several speakers.

Last week, Comstock issued the following statement on her website about her convention address:

"I am honored to have the opportunity to speak at the 2012 Republican National Convention and serve as a convention co-chairman. Next week, when we nominate the next President and Vice-President of the United States, all Virginians and all Americans will hear from the team who will get the country back on the path to prosperity."

Paul Ryan's "path to prosperity" is a straight, narrow and long descent to the desolate land of Forgotten Dreams especially for the children of the poor and working class who want better for themselves. However, that doesn't include Barbara "I Got Mine" Comstock and her friends.

Barbara Comstock was given this national spotlight as a reward for being the good soldier and adhering to the Republican social agenda. She voted for the personhood bill, the transvaginal probe, the repeal of the one-gun-per-month bill, tougher voter ID laws, to allow discrimination against gays in adoptions, and to require State Police to check immigration status. Barbara Comstock was elected to advocate for the residents of the 34th District, not the Republican National Committee.

Barbara Comstock again shows her colors as an extremist social conservative that lives in a ideological world outside Norther Virginia. She is eager to hang out with her radical friends in Tampa and ignore her constituents in McLean.
