A McLean woman who died in a single vehicle car crash on Lewinsville Road on Sept. 18 was killed by blunt trauma to the neck, trunk and extremities, the Virginia Medical Examiner's office revealed Tuesday.

Cheri Cusumano, 52, swerved off Lewinsville Road during wet conditions just after noon on Sept. 18. Her 2011 Toyota Sienna hit a tree and burst into flames. The manner of her death was accidential, the medical examiner determined.

Your initial reporting of this horrific accident was lacking in sensitivity. The manner in which you described the condition of the victim, a friend and fellow human being, was highly objectionable. Speculation on any possible numbers of causes were unwarranted. In reporting the news, given the nature of the incident, the facts should be presented in consideration of a grieving community.

Is the McLean community a better place for knowing of the horrific details of this wonderful Mother's, Wife's, and friend's untimely death??? She is gone and a family is greiving beyond our comprehension. Can't we just leave it there?
The "Patch" coverage of this tragedy is more like tabloid/sensational journalism.
Maybe Patch is hoping to attract the attention of Rupert Murdoch's organization?
It may be a better fit than for McLean
