Fairfax County Police logged the following incidents in the McLean area during the week ending Aug. 8.
Larceny: 1600 block of Anderson Road, four cases of liquor from business
Larceny: 1400 block of Balls Hill Road, cell phone and wallet from vehicle
Larceny: 7000 block of Bright Avenue, Two passports from residence
Larceny: 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road, Cell phone from business
Larceny: 6800 block of Elm Street, cash from business
Larceny: Tysons Galleria, 2001 International Dr., Two belts from business
Larceny: Tysons Galleria, 2001 Internationl Dr., Merchandise from business
Larceny: 6800 block of Redmond Dr., Cash from business
Larceny: 1500 block of Spring Hill Road, Gold necklace from business
Larceny: Tysons Corner Center, Laptop computer from business
Larceny: Tysons Corner Center, Handbags from business
Animal Control Division — Countywide
Rabies Violation: 2400 block of Southgate Square, Aug. 4, 2012, 1:15 p.m. A 53-year-old mail carrier was attempting to deliver mail when a 5-year-old mix terrier bit him. The dog was routinely quarantined and the owner, Steven Troutman, 28, of Reston, was additionally charged with no valid rabies vaccination.
Injured Raccoon: 8700 block of Thomas J. Stockton Parkway, Aug. 7, 2012, 3:45. Animal Control Officers were called for a raccoon fighting a dog. The raccoon was captured, destroyed, and taken to the shelter for processing. Owner of the dog was charged with having an unlicensed dog.
Abandoned Dog: Berger Place/Oram Place, Aug. 8, 2012, 4:50 p.m. Animal Control Officers were called for a dog which apparently was intentionally left behind. The friendly young chocolate and white Pit Bull Terrier was captured and taken to the shelter pending owner identification.
