Former McLean Home of Teddy Kennedy Up for Sale

A home along the Potomac River that was formerly owned by Sen. Teddy Kennedy is for sale, according to The Huffington Post.

The 10-bedroom home with an address at 634-636 Chain Bridge Road is on the market for nearly $10 million. The property consists 6.5 acres divided between two parcels. One parcel with the house is valued at $5.3 million. The second parcel is an empty wooded lot assessed for $2.7 million.

The Huffington Post reported: Built in 1968, the house was designed by architect John Carl Warnecke, who also designed John F. Kennedy's gravesite in Arlington National Cemetery and Executive Branch office buildings near the White House that preserved the historic nature of Lafayette Park's rowhouses.

Who owns it now: River Song Limited bought both properties in 1997. River Song is listed with a Hong Kong address in Fairfax County tax records.

The property was on the market for $13.5 million in 2008.

Who are the neighbors:The top three most expensive homes in the Washington area, according to the May issue of Washingtonian Magazine. Their owners include former AOL moguls Steve Case and Jim Kimsey. Other neighbors include Charles and Lynda Robb, developer Dwight Schar and the estate of the late Alexander Haig.
