Ramp from Route 7 to Route 123 Reopens Today
Good Traffic News for a Change
Finally, a sprig of good news for the beleaguered drivers in McLean and Tysons Corner.
Beginning this morning, the ramp from Westbound Route 7 (going towards Reston) to Southbound Route 123 (going to Vienna) is scheduled to reopen, according to the Dulles Corridor Metrorail project. (These are the folks building the new subway line.)
The ramp has been closed since Sept. 2010 because of the construction of the new Metro Silver Line through Tyson's Corner to Reston.
This ramp was closed for the construction of the west end of the tunnel that will connect the station in front of the first Tysons Corner Mall with the first station on Route 7. There are four stations in McLean/Tysons Corner.
Road crews have been working on restoring the ramp for about three weeks, according to the Metrorail folks. All work is weather pending and subject to change.
The new Silver Line from West Falls Church through to Tysons Corner and Wiehle Avenue in Reston is expected to open in late 2013. The final leg to Dulles Airport hopefully will open in our lifetime.

An appropriate map would be more helpful than your photos in stories such as this.
