McLean Crime Blotter: Fatal Crash and Other Incidents
These incidents were reported in the McLean Police District recently, according to Fairfax County Police.
The following incident information was obtained from the Activity Report provided by Fairfax County Police Department’s Public Information Office. The incidents included are at the discretion of the PIO and are not to be considered all-inclusive.

The report contains information for the week that ended Thursday, March 7.
Addresses listed indicate block numbers, not necessarily a specific address. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate a conviction.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2900 block of Monticello Drive, 9:10 a.m. March 7 — A maintenance man reported someone was found in a vacant unit and nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through a rear window. The suspect was known and a warrant for unlawful entry has been issued.
FATAL CRASH, Gallows Road/Prosperity Avenue, 9:50 p.m. March 6 — A pedestrian was crossing Gallows Road not at the intersection. She was struck by a vehicle and the driver waited and called the police. The pedestrian died at a local hospital. Detectives are still attempting to confirm her identity and the case is still under investigation. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors. (Read more about this incident here.)
BURGLARY, 8200 block of Peridot Drive, 2:45 p.m. March 3 — A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a laptop computer. Entry was made through a rear door.
ROBBERY, 2900 block of Piney Grove Court, 3:45 p.m. March 1 — A 19-year-old reported two men entered his home, brandished a handgun, hit him, and stole his cell phone. He was not seriously injured. One was described as approximately 18 years old, 5’9” and 165 lbs. They wore black ski masks.
ROBBERY, 8300 block of Leesburg Pike, 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28 — An employee reported someone entered the store, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect fled with cash and a purse. The helicopter and a K-9 team searched the area. No one was injured. The suspect was described as approximately 6’ and 200 lbs. He was wearing a mask and black jacket.
