McLean Youth Soccer Play Competes, Wins in UK
The Keele International Cup soccer tournament was held recently in Staffordshire, England.
While all eyes were on the Olympics, a youth soccer team from McLean was in England winning a trophy of its own.
"The team, made up of some of the best 11- and 12-year-old players from McLean Youth Soccer and coached by Lucas Cook, competed against 14 teams from around the world," according to a team press release.
"The team won the play-off division, the Plate trophy, and took third place overall in the Keele International Cup soccer tournament held during the Olympics in Staffordshire, England."
Brian Luwis, team’s Tournament Manager, said, “Watching our guys play tough international teams, you couldn’t help imagining a bright future for the next generation of US soccer."
The McLean soccer players also got a chance to watch a professional soccer game during the trip between Great Britian and Senegal at Manchester United Football Club’s Old Trafford Stadium.

Is 'soccer' an olympic sport...? I think its called Football.. and also Great Britian was not a competing nation although I think Great Britain was... perhaps this is what was meant.
Well done boys on winning..
