Update: 10,000 McLean Residents Remain Without Power, List of McLean Neighborhoods With/Without Power

Tysons Corner hard hit.

UPDATE 7:05p.m. Dominion Power reports that nearly 125,000 Fairfax County customers remain without power out of nearly 400,000 customers in the county, according to its website.

An estimated 10,000 of those customers live in McLean from Towlston Road south to the Arlington County line and from the Potomac River west to Route 7, according to the Dominion website.

About half of those without power live north of Chain Bridge Road and about half live south of Chain Bridge.

Major areas without power according to Dominion Power:

Tysons Corner: Nearly 1,500 customers are without power in the vicinity of Spring Hill Road, the Dulles Toll Road and West Park.

Route 123 and Great Falls Road: Nearly 2,000 customers in the McLean Knolls vicinity are without power.

Kirby Road between Great Falls and Westmoreland: More than 1,000 customers who live in this vicinity of  are without power.

Arlington County line around Powhatan: Another 1,000 who live in this vicinity also remain with no power.

The website gives no estimated time for restoration.

Dominion power said in a press release late Sunday afternoon: 80-85 percent expected to be restored by Tuesday night; 90-95 percent by Thursday night; nearly all remaining service restored by Saturday.

McLean Patch will continue to report power outages until all the neighbors have their power back.

UPDATE 6:16 pm: McLean Patch asked neighbors to tell us which communities now had power and which were still waiting. Great response from the neighbors. Please keep us updated through the McLean Patch Facebook page.

Communities where power has been restored.

Broyhill-Glen Gary Park has electric.

Commons of McLean has power, at least the townhouses at the corner of Anderson and Chain Bridge do. I don't know about the whole complex.

Potomac Hills has power as of 9:30 pm Saturday after 24 hrs without power.

"Actually only part of Potomac hills has power. Kellogg, Hardy, Lochraven and off-shoots do not."

We have power on Linway Park Drive off of Linway Terrace.

The very end of Maddux lane off of Chesterbrook road. The beginning of Maddux has power but not the very end where the cul de sac is.

Chain bridge court has power.

El nido/ birch road with power.

Dead Run Drive area.

Power is back in the area of Barbee street!

Marlboro/Nantucket neighborhood off Kirby road has power.

Evans Farm -- our power came back on at 1:35 am today (Sunday).

Communities where there is still no power.

No power on ingleside ave near community center and library

L'Ambiance of Mclean on Kirby between Great Falls and Westmoreland still without power

Greenway Heights still without power...and judging from the mangled mess of wires on springhill and then again on 193...I'm not feeling optimistic.

Devon park- Mcfall street.

Langley Oaks is still without power.

The Colonies of McLean off Old Meadow Road... Still out.

Westerlies still no power.

Mclean Hunt....no power!

Franklin Park - no power.

McLean 100 no power.

Swinks Mill Court, no power.

Hamlet between Swinks mill & Titania still w/o power.

Dolley Madison apartments between magarity and old meadow road are still out of power.

UPDATE 5:56pm.  Greenberrys says they WILL open Monday. Limited food but lots of coffee. McLean Patch reported earlier that this  popular downtown coffee house would not reopen until Tuesday.

The McLean Giant and the CVS located in the same shopping center are open.

UPDATE 9:11 am. Here's the Fairfax County Office of Emergency update shared by Supervisor John Foust:
1)      No reports of storm related injuries or fatalities overnight
2)      The number of residences without power has been reduced to approximately 156,500
3)      All 40-storm-water pumping stations are operational (on generator power)
4)     Approximately 101 intersections and roads remain blocked by debris or are without power.  Route 401 (between Springfield and Tyson’s) on Fairfax Connecter is being detoured due to debris.

    5)      Volunteer Fairfax will be contacting residents with medical needs that have equipment needing power today
    6)      There is a “boil-water” area that includes McLean from Magarity to Westpark and from the Dulles Access Road to Route 7.

UPDATE 9 am. Coffee: Downtown Starbucks is open. You can also buy Starbucks coffee at the McLean Giant and McLean Safeway, both of which are open.

Greenberry's remains closed as does most of the shopping center where it is located in downtown McLean.

Church: St. John's Episcopal church held services outside this morning. The cupola that crowns the church is leaning from damage from Friday night's horrific winds.

St. John's The Beloved Catholic Church on Old Dominion Drive has power and held services as normal.

McLean Presbyterian Church on Balls Hill Road cancelled services because of a lack of power.

Power Restoration: Dominion Square across from the Balducci's shopping center has power restored, the neighbors report. McLean Hamlet is also reportedly with power. Neighborhoods to the west of the Hamlet remain hard hit.

Please let us know when your power is restored to your community.

We'll continue updating until all the neighbors have their power back.

Find out what's opening in the rest of Fairfax here.

UPDATE 7:30 am. Langley Farms power was restored Saturday afternoon, according to a neighbor. An area to the east of them remains one of the hardest hit.

ORIGINAL STORY 7:12 am.Power began to return to some McLean homes early Sunday morning.

Nearly 150,000 Dominion Power customers remain without power in Fairfax County but that number was nearly 300,000 about 6 pm Saturday.

However  there are still four areas of McLean where more than 1,000 customers are without power. They include an area long Kirby Road just west of Old Dominion. An area near the CIA Headquarters. Another north of Chain Bridge Road along Great Falls. And tha last one is just west of the Beltway around east of Old Dominion.

It appears much of the restored areas are in the vicinity of Chain Bridge Road just west of downtown McLean.

Neighbors, please let us know when your power returns.

McLean Patch will continue to report on power outages until all the neighbors have their power restored.

Full Disclosure: McLean Patch is a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

Galium Court, Union Church, and Bellview Road ('tween Old Dominion & Towlston) are without power, water (b/c our well pumps need power), or telephone service.

Bobbi, thank you for your updates. Very helpful!
