Former Supervisor Named to GMU Board of Visitors. Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has appointed former Dranesville Supervisor Stuart Mendelsohn to the George Mason University Board of Visitors. Mendelsohn, of Great Falls, is executive partner of the Tysons Corner office of Holland & Knight LLP, a law firm.

Kimberly O. Dennis, of McLean, president and CEO of The Searle Freedom Trust, was reappointed to the GMU board.

Award for Pam Danner. Danner was honored with the “Friend in Deed” from the Friends of the McLean Community Center “for outstanding leadership and support of the McLean Community Center.

Danner, a McLean attorney, was elected to the McLean Community Center Governing Board in 1986, and served until 1992. Then she served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the McLean Community Center from 2002 to 2006. She now serves as its pro bono legal counsel and registered agent.

Goodbye, Joyce and Good Luck. Popular Greenberry's barista and McLean native Joyce Campos said goodbye to her Greenberry's friends Saturday. She's off to a new teaching job in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Friends of Bill Clinton.  Last week, Bill Clinton joined Haley R. Barbour, former governor of Misissippi, Phil Bryant, the current Governor of Mississippi, and McLean neighbor (and friend of Bill's) Terry McAuliffe, Chairman of GreenTech Automotive, for the unveiling of  GreenTech Automotive’s all-electric MyCar.

GreenTech Automotive, a Virginia-based automotive manufacturer dedicated to developing and producing environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient vehicles, unveiled the two-seat all-electric vehicle at its manufacturing plant at Horn Lake, Miss.

"MyCar is being produced in GreenTech’s Horn Lake, Miss., manufacturing facility, the result of a shared commitment to job creation between GreenTech Chairman Terry McAuliffe, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee; and former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, former chairman of the Republican National Committee. The facility is expected to create 426 direct jobs and support more than 7,400 other jobs by 2014," said the GreenTech press release.
