Update: Power Restored for Most McLean Residents

Outages resulted from Sunday night thunderstorms

 

UPDATE: Monday 8:15am. All but a handful of McLean resident have had their power restored, according to Dominion Power.

It appears that less than 5 McLean customers are still without power, near downtown McLean.

Let us know if you are without power. We will continue to report outages until all the neighbors have their power back.

SUNDAY 10:05 pm. The thunderstorms now moving through McLean and Fairfax have left about 25 McLean residents without power.

They are among a little over 100 Fairfax customers of Dominion Electric without power, according to the public utility.

All the power losses were storm-related, according to Dominion Power. Those without power were scattered. The largest  pocket was 10 customers near the intersection of Georgetown Pike and Route 123.

Dominion Power gave no estimated time of when power would be restored.

Let us know if you are without power. We will continue to report outages until all the neighbors have their power back.

Here's the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Overnight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Memorial Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. South wind between 5 and 9 mph.

Nice to know we can report outages to you, and you can help us get our power back! How should we let you know about power outages?

We had an outage following the Tues night thunderstorm. Fortunately, just several quick power flashes. But, a good reminder to keep flashlights & batteries handy!
