U.S. Senate Majority Leader Accosted in McLean Grocery Store
Saturday Afternoon Incident Involving Sen. Reid
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid dropped by McLean's gourmet food store Saturday afternoon to do a little shopping and was confronted by a man unhappy about the health care bill, said a neighbor who witnessed the incident.
Reid was in the checkout line at Balducci's when a man walked up to him, recognized him, started pointing at him and said, “This is Sen. Harry Reid. He’s the one trying to force the new health care on us.”
The man continued to point to Reid and speak loudly about the health care law.
Balducci’s staff confirmed the incident but would give no details. Balducci's is located on Old Dominion Drive in the same shopping center as the Dolley Madison Library.
Reid was accompanied by two men who appeared to be a security team. A black Suburban was parked outside the store, the witness said. Black Suburbans are a favorite van of security forces in Washington.
The two men and two Balducci's employes helped escort Reid out of the store.
“It was scary,” said one of the employes who was involved.
It is unknown what happened to the man.
We asked Sen. Reid's office about the incident and have received no answer. Sen. Reid lives in Washington, D.C. It is believed his daughter lives in McLean.

Oh my goodness, I feel sorry for him. Everybody deserves to be 'off the clock' once in a while.

It is amazing to me that Reid would not expect it. The democrates in congress have been very cavilier with the vote on health care, give favors(ie, waivers) to a few, GE pays a tax rate of less than 4%-others in the 35% range and then chant on the floor "yes we can" like a bunch of junior high kids....................and the people who the work for are beyond mad. Not to hard to understand.

Now I understand why George Bush, Sr. had not been to a supermarket and was so surprised to see the grocery "scanners" at the check out lane. From the news lately, it seems like supermarkets are dangerous places for politicians!

Even more embarassing than the churlish behavior of the right-winger at Balducci's are the posts on this page.
Obomber, Greedy and Postabee? And you say Dems act like 8th graders?
And if Harry Reid is out of touch for shopping in a gourmet store, isn't the mouth-breather who harassed Senator Reid also out of touch?
