More than 20 young McLean residents recently graduated from Marymount University in Arlington. They were among the more than 450 undergraduates and 350 graduate students who received degrees at the university's 61st Commencement Ceremonies.

Marymount speaker another McLean neighbor 

The Honorable Charles T. (Chuck) Hagel, chairman of the Atlantic Council and former U.S. Senator from Nebraska, gave the address to the undergraduates and received the honorary degree Doctor of Humane Letters in recognition of his lifetime of distinguished leadership and service.

More McLean graduates

Larissa White was one of 642 students to graduate from Messiah College on May 12. White graduated with a degree in studio art. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences.

Sue Biolsi graduated from Rice University on May 12. Biolsi received a Master of Architecture degree.

Jody Thomas Davis and Kyle B. McGinnis were among 401 graduates at Washington and Lee University.

McLean student receives special recognition

Will A. Thompson was one of 106 students at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg named to the university's President's List for the spring semester. Thompson, a senior, was recognized for attaining a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
