Why You Were Stuck on the Dulles Toll Road Monday PM

Here why the westbound lanes of the Dulless Toll Road were closed down near the intersection with the Capital Beltway Monday afternoon.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which operates the Toll Road, took the unusual step of refusing to state the cause of the accident.

Here's a statement from The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.They have their own  police force which handled the accident:

At about 4:30pm we received a call and our police responded. Fairfax County Fire Department also responded.

Location was westbound Dulles Airport Access Highway just prior to I-495.

One vehicle, a Arlington County Fire Department Chevy Tahoe, had rolled over. Both westbound lanes were blocked. Our police detoured traffic to the westbound toll road lanes.

The Tahoe had one occupant who declined transport and was not cited.
The vehicle was removed and the lanes reopened just before 6pm.
