I finally took advantage of the new turf soccer field at Linway Terrace Park.* A few months ago, a new soccer field was put in place of the old one. The old soccer field was in desperate need of renovation. Some wouldn't even call it a field -- just a lumpy mound of soil and patches of crab grass that you would trip over! But out with the old and in with the new. The new field is amazing, featuring fresh grass, clearly painted lines, new goal posts, and a smooth and even playing field. Finals week is over. Finally. Finals weeks is that time of the semester when students start stressing out, chug coffee, and pull all nighters. For many students, finals can make or break their grade. In many classes the final exam can be worth up to 50 percent of the overall grade, and in a few classes, the final exam can be the only grade for the whole semester. The one sense of relief that comes this time of year is the knowledge that it is almost over. Students deal with the stress of finals quite well because they know that a long Winter break is just a few days away. Plus, it feels great…

This is his blog and his life in McLean.   Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite holiday. I've always enjoyed it more than Christmas, New Years, and all the rest. I like the way McLean looks in the Autumn, with all the leaves changing colors. Plus the food is great. Every year I make sure not to eat all day, so when the Thanksgiving meal comes I am hungry and ready to eat. This Thanksgiving my mom and I were invited to my uncle's house for the meal.
