The campaign\, &ldquo\;Break Free Today\,&rdquo\; aims to help women understand the facts about PFDs and empower them wit h information on how to pursue individualized solutions for improved qua lity of life.\n \;\nNovember is National Bladder Awareness Month. Ne arly one in five women in the United States (U.S.) suffer from PFD-relat ed overactive bladder (OAB)\, yet 80 percent of women with OAB never see k treatment and more than half believe that there are no effective treat ments.As a result\, women who suffer from OAB try to manage the conditio n on their own through coping strategies.\n \;\nMedstar Washington H ospital Center/ Georgetown University School of Medicine \, along with t he PFD Alliance\, wants to help the millions of women living with OAB an d other PFD-related issues to know that they don&rsquo\;t have to live w ith it\, and treatments are available.
