DESCRIPTION:To make Great Falls seniors' library experience more meaningf
 ul\, the Senor Center opens 2013 with aprogram on the future of librarie
 s and their services particularly relevant to older citizens.\nFairfax C
 ounty Library Director Edwin S. Clay III will discuss the challenges and
  opportunities for libraries in the 21st Century. He also will explain h
 ow eBooks are impactin ght epublishing industry and our libraries. To ra
 ise the comfort level of guests\, the program will feature a "petting zo
 o" of sorts that shows guests how to use an e-reader and the library's e
 Book collection. And Directory Clay will solicit guests' input on how th
 e library can best serve them.\nJanice Kuch\, manager of the Access Serv
 ices Department\, will share the library's special services for the home
 bound and vision-challenged customers.\nThe event is January 8 at the Gr
 eat Falls Library\, 9830 Georgetown Pike\, 11:00am to 1:30pm. A box lunc
 h will be served. A modest donation is appreciated.\nThe eventis sponsor
 ed by the 100 members of he Rotary Club of Great Falls. The Rotary meets
  at the River Bend Golf and Country Club on Thursday mornings for breakf
 ast at 7:30am. Meetings are open to the public. For more information vis

  the Center has invited guests to recognize local citizens who have live
 d in this community for 50 or more years\; learn the significant history
  of Dranesville Tavern\; hear about future plans for The Turner Farm Par
 k\; visit the Great Falls National Park\; and celebrate the holiday seas
 on.\nThe Senior Center will introduce a pilot program of exercise classe
 s appropriate for seniors in January. The initial class instruction will
  be "tai chi\," a slow movement exercise know to reduce stress and to of
 fer other benefits such as mental clarity. Other plans are in the works 
 for future road trips and appearances by nationally-known Great Falls re
