We received the good news this summer that after a two-year comprehensive self-study including an on-site visit followed by a report that both acknowledged the academic excellence provided at MSM along with thoughtful suggestions, the American Montessori Society has reaccredited the Montessori School of McLean for another seven years! We are one of only four Montessori schools in the entire Commonwealth of Virginia to seek and qualify for this high standard.
As you can imagine, we are very proud of our entire community of teachers, parents, administrators, and students who strive each day to carry out our mission statement:

More About Montessori School of McLean
The Montessori School of McLean is located behind the Chesterbrook United Methodist Church in the Chesterbrook area of McLean. The School is in a modern building that its leaders call "the children's house." It was founded in the early 1970s, just as McLean was transforming from farmland to suburban subdivisions. Its young graduates tend to continue in private schools. During the 2012-2013 school year, the school will celebrate its 40 th anniversary.
