One Sip at a Time: Wine Doesn't Get Wrinkles - What Happens When it Ages?
A classic professional wine note might end like this: “Anticipated maturity 2015-2035.” Huh? Why do you need to wait to drink this wine that’s already tasting pretty yummy? And what happens when a wine ages – does it get just better or does it get different? Can I decant a young wine to make it taste mature? We have lots of information and opinions to share about decanting and aging wine, and we’ll share all of it during this fun, free-wheeling session.
Nothing replaces your own experience, so we’ll show you a pair of wines decanted versus un-decanted and a red and white wine in their current release and with five-plus years in cellar. Maybe you’ll think older is better. Maybe you’ll think young and fresh is the way to go.
In any case, you’ll definitely have your own opinions to share the next time someone says a bottle isn't ready!
One Sip at a Time classes at Chain Bridge Cellars offer fun and tasty opportunities to learn about wine. Hour-long classes take place the second Thursday of every month (except August) in our on-site classroom and are strictly limited to 24 participants.
