Untold Story of Gettysburg: The McLean Historical Society welcomes Jim Lewis, a McLean native, and co-author Brian McEnany at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss their new book, "Sunstroke and Ankle-Deep Mud." The pair will present the untold story of the Gettysburg campaign through Northern Virginia. The event is at 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean. More info here.

Fundraising Dinner for Share Inc.: The HBC Realty Group is hosting a dinner fundraiser for Share Inc., which provides food pantry and clothing services to people in need in McLean, Great Falls and Pimmit Hills. The dinner is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pulcinella: The Italian Host, 6852 Old Dominion Drive in McLean.More info here.

Winter Prep: Is your home ready for fall and winter? McEnearney Associates is offering a free seminar on getting your home buttoned up for the season. The discussion will be led by Realtor Debbie Hauter at 7 p.m. Tuesday at McEnearney Associates, 212-A N. West St. in Falls Church.

Miss Sophie: Hop on board a new water taxi, the Miss Sophie, connecting the National Mall, Georgetown and National Harbor. This service will be offered six days a week, Tuesdays through Sundays, with no service on Mondays, except holidays. Reservations may be made online at www.potomacriverboatco.com, or tickets may be purchased at booths at National Harbor and Georgetown. From the National Mall, tickets may be purchased on the boat as space is available basis.
