McLean's U12 Boys Hotspur Green Soccer Team Heads to Prestigious Region 1 Championship Tournament in Rhode Island

On June 27, 2013, McLean’s MPS U12 Boys Hotspur Green soccer team, coached by Jamil Walker, will travel to Rhode Island to compete in the Region I Championship Tournament at the University of Rhode Island.  Hotspur Green earned their way to the championship tournament by winning the Virginia State Cup, topping the field of 29 teams from Virginia who competed.  

 

The 2013 US Youth Soccer Region I (East) Championships is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the country's most prestigious national youth soccer tournament.  The championships are expected to draw more than 4,500 players and an estimated 10,000 spectators.  The US Youth Soccer Region I Championships consist of US Youth Soccer State Champions from 15 Eastern states including Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York West, Pennsylvania West, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
