Damaged Line Knocks Out Power to Nearly 800 Homes in Great Falls

Dominion estimates power will be back on between 1-3 a.m.

Residents in the Great Falls area are experiencing a power outage Tuesday night, according to Dominion Power's online outage map.

The outage is due to power line damage, according to the Web site.

In all, the power outage map shows that 766 homes are without power at 10:30 p.m. Dominion predicts the power will be back on between 1-3 a.m., according to the online power outage map.

The temperature for the Great Falls area at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday is 32 degrees; the low temperature forecast for Tuesday night into Wednesday is 24 degrees.

Northern Virginia is bracing for snow beginning Wednesday morning before dawn, with a likely messy morning commute, according to forecasters.
