Foodie Alert: Get Ready for the Great Taste of Tysons Food Festival

Event May 31-June 1 weekend will offer chef demos, wine tastings, music and family fun.

Attention all foodies: Mark your calendars for May 31 and June 1. Those are the dates for the brand-new "The Great Taste of Tysons" coming to Lerner Town Square at Tysons II, next to the Tysons II Mall.

The festival will bring together award-winning celebrity chefs, artisanal craftsmen, culinary pioneers, music, family fun as well as wine and spirits from around the world. 

This inaugural festival will include over 150 International wines, spirits and beers featured along with local and regional favorites. Guests will be able to sample all of the varieties on-site at special event-only low prices.

Beyond the drink tastings there are many other highlights which include:  A Gin Tasting Table, Compare Scotches at the Scotch lounge, find love at the Rum Shack, just to name a few. This first time event promises to be the first of many in this hip new venue with future metro access.

Saturday 

Chef Victor Albisu of Del Campo and Taco Bamba will be kicking off the grilling season with Authentic South American Grilling demonstrations. All of these local, regional and nationally recognized chefs will offer meet and greets and cooking demonstrations.

Additional events include a live taping Saturday, May 31 at 1 p.m. of radio show "Foodie and Beast" with hosts Nycci and David Nellis.  During the taping, guests will be included in a blind beer tasting with several of the area’s beer experts.  The show will air on Sunday, June 1 at 11 a.m. on Federal News Network.
