Summer Sunday Concerts in the Park

Where/When:  McLean Central Park, Route 123 and Old Dominion Drive, McLean; Sunday, July 3, 5:00 PM.

Why Go: Thanks to the combined efforts of the Fairfax County Park Authority, Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust, the New Dominion Women's Club, and the Alden Theatre, live music and entertainment is on stage at the McLean Central Park gazebo all summer. On Sunday, Furnace Mountain—a lively, raucous Appalachian fiddle band—comes to play.

Where/When:  Great Falls Village Center, Georgetown Pike & Walker Road, Great Falls; Sundays in June and July, 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Why Go: On Sunday evenings in the summer, the Great Falls Village Green opens up to picnickers and dancing kids, celebrating the ease of being outdoors and listening to live music. This weekend, Daryl Davis performs blues and boogie-woogie jams.

Ages: All welcome

City Dance and Music with Milkshake

Where/When: Wolf Trap's Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, 1551 Trap Road, Vienna; Tuesday, June 28 - Saturday, July 2 at 10 and 11 AM.

Why Go: Nestled in a woody grove, the Theatre-in-the-Woods enables families to spend the summer months introducing children to the thrill of live music, dance, storytelling, puppetry, and theater. This week, City Dance Conservatory performs at 10 AM, with a modern dance journey to the Amazon, followed by Music with Milkshake—rock ‘n roll, high energy beats—at 11 AM.

Pricing: Day Pass is $8, which includes two shows for the price of one.

Ages: All performances are recommended for children between Kindergarten and 6th grade.
