The American Classic Carousel Open at Clemyjontri

Where/When:  Clemyjontri Park, 6317 Georgetown Pike, McLean; Friday, November 11, 10am-5pm

Why Go: The centerpiece of Clemyjontri, the gorgeous American Classic Carousel, reopens for a special day of riding on Monday, Veteran’s Day. The carousel is recessed to ground level so that it is welcoming of wheelchairs, allowing children of all abilities to play side by side.

Pricing: $1.75 per ride

Friday Night Rock 'n' Skate at the Reston Town Center Ice Skating Pavilion

Where/When: Reston Town Center Pavilion, 11900 Market Street, Reston; Recurring weekly on Fridays, November 11 through March 16, 8pm-11pm

Why Go: The winter season at Reston officially begins on Friday. Rock out on the ice with a DJ, games, and prizes. Ice skates and other supplies are available inside the Skate Shop directly beside the Pavilion (behind Clyde's).

Pricing: Free!

Ages: All welcome, but best for older kids, tweens, and teenagers

 

Harry Potter Movie Weekend at Sony

Where/When:  Sony Store at Tysons Corner Center, 1961 Chain Bridge Road, McLean; Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13, noon

Why Go:  The seventh Harry Potter movie will be shown in 3D at the Sony store in two installments this weekend. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 will be on Saturday; Part 2 will be shown on Sunday. All Potterheads get caramel popcorn and fun giveaways.

Pricing: Free!

Ages: Potterheads of all ages welcome.
