Grab & Go: Events for Parents and Kids in McLean

This Week: Time on the Farm; A Funny Play; A Beautified Benefit

Glad you clicked on our Grab & Go Kids Planner! We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you!

Why Go: Where else could your child learn how to pound corn, card wool, spin thread and dip candles? Claude Moore volunteers and staff—all dressed in period costume, naturally—will run activity stations on the farm grounds, giving your kids fun and priceless insight into life on an 18th-century farm. Maybe they’ll stop taking their iPods for granted after its all said and done.

Ages: Appropriate for ages 4 and older
