I-66 Westbound Closed Tonight At Dulles Connector Rd.

Follow Detour Signs

Interstate 66 westbound at the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) will be closed overnight tonight, from 11pm - 5 am, for Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project construction. This is the Silver Line subway project.

This closure will affect drivers bound for destinations along I-66 west of Arlington.

For safety reasons, traffic cannot be allowed to flow under this construction work. Thru traffic will be detoured on to the Dulles Connector Road westbound, then on to Route 123 south toward Tysons Corner, to a right turn on to the ramp to the Capital Beltway south toward Richmond. Drivers can then rejoin I-66 from the Beltway.

To avoid the closure, drivers bound for destinations inside the Capital Beltway may find alternate routes via other local westbound roads by exiting I-66 prior to the I-66/Dulles Connector Road split. For example, traffic bound for the Falls Church City/Broad Street and Idylwood areas can exit before the detour and use Route 29/Washington Street to connect with Broad Street (Route 7 west).
