Summer is supposed to be a time for slowing down and savoring long, lazy days.

Yeah, right.

Now is as good a time as ever to try Edge Cuisine—the gourmet, chef prepared, fully cooked and frozen meal service in McLean.

Take our word for it; these meals will make you forget about Lean Cuisine and frozen pizza forever. The Edge Cuisine team of Elizabeth Bertholon and Annalisa Assaadi cook your entrees and side dishes using the sous-vide method, slow cooking and pasteurizing proteins and veggies under precise temperatures in their natural juices. Dishes are then vacuum packed to capture both flavor and tenderness.  All you have to do is defrost for that “I have a personal chef on staff” feeling.

Each Wednesday in June from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, Edge Cuisine is open for you to purchase from their menu of items, which changes every four weeks. Pre-order or choose on the spot. For the extraordinarily busy McLeaner, they’ll even bring your food to your car. Private tastings for groups and fundraisers can also be arranged by request.

Edge Cuisine is going on vacation in July, so stock up now on dinners that sound as good as they taste. (This month, we are loving the Cornish Hen with Mushroom, Pinenut and Cranberry Stuffing, Scallops Sancerre, and the Semolina Fruit Cake.)

Tell your family and guests you’ve whipped up everything yourself. We promise we won’t tell.

Edge Cuisine, 1617 Kirby Road, McLean, 703.609.3666.

Correction: The Edge Cuisine team does not "cook" the food themselves. Because sous-vide is a highly technical art of cooking, they purchase the food from an USDA, FDA and HACCP certified plant in Alexandria, VA.
