Despite our unhappiness at the weather, we are infinitely happy for the lovely couple, and we’ve picked out a present that reflects this feeling.

Joie is noticing that giving wedding gifts off-registry is becoming more de rigueur these days. Indeed, as Ms. Manners wrote in her recent book, “Miss Manners’ Guide to a Surprisingly Dignified Wedding,” registries are a form of “extortion, known as ‘saving guests the trouble’ of deciding how to spend their own money.”

Now, Joie would not condemn registries to such an extent, but we do endorse choosing a stylish, lovely, and classic gift that is not from such predictable sources like Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel.

So go forth, gentle wedding guests, browse through our pictures, and embrace the act of truly thoughtful gift-giving.
