The Rotary Club of Vienna sponsors the Viva! Vienna! event, which celebrates the community and honors Memorial Day. Vienna’s historic Freeman House, Old Vienna Railroad Station, the Caboose, W & OD Trail, and Church Streets at Dominion and Mill all provide the primary setting for this annual festival. Local vendors will offer a great variety of foods and organizations and businesses will set up booths. Amusement rides, live music, and children’s entertainment will round out all three days of fun.

This outdoor jazz festival features a full day of jazz stylings from the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, the Bruce Swaim Quartet, the Lovejoy Group, Al Williams and the Village Jazz Band. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets.

The City of Falls Church celebrates Memorial Day with a festival full of quintessential summer fun — a parade, pony rides, craft booths, live entertainment, and plenty of good food will ensure your family has a wonderful first day of summer.
Parade begins on the corner of Constitution Avenue and Seventh Street in Northwest D.C.

All 50 states will be represented in the annual National Memorial Day Parade, hosted by the American Veterans Center. Marching bands, veterans units and patriotic floats will march down Constitution Avenue in honor of those who have selflessly served and sacrificed for our country.
Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday

Wednesday, May 25, through Tuesday, May 31
Perhaps not a festival or parade, Virginia's annual Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is an important summer tradition, too. During this seven-day period, purchases of items designated by the Department of Taxation as hurricane and emergency preparedness equipment will be exempt from Virginia sales tax. This includes batteries, flashlights, tarps, rope, duct tape, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, bottled water, first aid kits, and many others items under $60. Portable generators priced at $1,000 or less are also included.
