McLean One of the 50 Richest Zip Codes

Bloomberg Businessweek List

Nestled between opulent California towns and New England hideaways, Northern Virginia claims three of Bloomberg Businessweek's top 50 richest zip codes.

McLean is  #25. McLean: Average household income - $242.8K; Average home net worth - $1.4 million.

McLean has two zip codes: 22101 and 22102. 22102 made the Bloomberg list.

Here's the description from Bloomberg: McLean, just 11 miles west of Washington, D.C., is where the Central Intelligence Agency is headquartered, so it's home to government agents of all kinds. It's also full of green spaces, such as Great Falls Park and Scotts Run Nature Preserve. The predominant cluster is executives and professionals in their 40s and 50s with no children.

McLean 22102 outranked our posh Maryland neighbors in Chevy Chase and Potomac.

Palm Beach, Fla. ranked No. 1 with an average household income of $370,1K and an average household net worth of $1.4 million.

McLean's neighbor Great Falls  is #12. Great Falls: Average household income - $261.6K; Average home net worth - $1.46M

The third Northern Virginia community is #48. Fairfax Station: Average household income - $227K; Average home net worth - $1.3M

Damn it, 22043 is also a McLean zip code! If good reporting doesn't get this right, then the rest of the world won't understand. Please print a correction, and tell us how many McLean homes are in 22043, as well as in 22101 & 22102......Ted Smith
