McLean Ramp Closings, Hunter Mill Closing Cancelled

REMINDER: Ramp from Southbound I-495 to Southbound Route 123 to Close Monday Night, April 18
 
The ramp from southbound I-495 to southbound Route 123 will close again overnight Monday, April 18, to create a safe work zone for aerial guideway construction.
 
Weather permitting, this ramp is scheduled to be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
 
Traffic to southbound Route 123 will be detoured by continuing south on the beltway and exiting westbound Leesburg Pike (Route 7). Drivers can then use International Drive to access Route 123, or continue on Leesburg Pike (Route 7) until it intersects Route 123.

Hunter Mill Road Overnight Closing Postponed

The announced overnight closures of Hunter Mill Road at the Dulles Toll Road for April 18-21 has been postponed with a date to be announced as soon as the work and road closures are rescheduled. The folks building the Silver subway line gave no reason for the change of plans.

 Major Water Line Work Continues through April 23, Will Close Spring Hill Road at Route 7 Overnights
 
Crews will continue installation of a major waterline at the intersection of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Spring Hill Road. This will require the closure of all lanes of northbound Spring Hill Road for a 150-foot stretch north of Route 7.
 
Traffic from Route 7 will be detoured to use Westpark Drive, to Greensboro Drive, to access Spring Hill Road. Southbound Spring Hill Road traffic wishing to access Route 7 will use the reverse of that route.
 
This work is expected to last through the overnight hours of Saturday, April 23, though closures will not be used if work is completed before that date.
 
No Lane Closures on I-495 Scheduled Next Week
 
Even though construction of the bridge over the I-495 Capital Beltway will continue next week, no lane closures will be needed.
 
As a reminder, various closures of the beltway can be expected throughout the remainder of 2011.
