McLean Whiz Kids

We write a lot about local politicians, Tysons Corner traffic tangles and other grown-up goings on about town, but we thought we'd pause a moment to highlight some of our younger neighbors.

These McLean kids - and young adults - caught our attention for their recent accomplishments. A round of applause for the group, please!

• Julia Diamond, a freshman at Skidmore College, received an honors distinction for her grade point average during the fall semester. She is the daughter of Robert Diamond and Amy Pullman of McLean.
• Christina Girardi was named to the Dean's List at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind. Christina is the daughter of Alyce Bowles of McLean.
• Jake Pierce was named to the Dean's List at Hampden-Sydney College. Jake is a graduate of McLean High School and is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Steven D. Pierce of McLean.
• Ariel Kiyomi Y. Lepon was selected as one of three Harvard College students to attend the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference in Annapolis, Md. in April.
• Ashley Martin was named to the Dean's List at Loyola University Maryland.
• Karthik Raman Krishnan, Deren Vance Pulley, Sonia Ashley Singh, Emily Claire Bullen and Jonathan Edmund Lipsey were all named to the Dean's List at Washington University in St. Louis for the fall 2011 semester.
