McLean Little League Girls Softball Fighting to Retain State Champ Title

The McLean Little League age 9-10 girls All-Star softball team beat the Virginia Beach team Sunday 22-0 to advance in the state tournament underway in Woodstock, Va.

The McLean team is the defending state champions. Today the team faces either Saltville or Matthews.

Elizabeth Dellinger of McLean graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental studies and a minor in classical studies from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va.

John Endean of McLean graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental studies and a minor in religious studies from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va.

Local students graduate from Denison University

Samantha Leong Case of McLean was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude. Case graduated with a major in biology and minors in music performance and chemistry. A consistent dean's list student, she was a recipient of a Tyree/Parajon Scholarship.

Kerrigan Elizabeth Dopp of McLean was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree. Dopp graduated with a major in sociology/anthropology with a minor in women's studies. She was a recipient of the Denison Alumni Scholarship.

Sophia Antonia Iglesias of McLean was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree. Iglesias graduated with a double major in communications and Spanish. She was awarded the Hla/Florida/Fisher Scholarship.

Andrew Williams Hunt Jr. of McLean named to Clemson University Dean's List. Hunt Jr. is majoring in Management (Entrepreneurship Emphasis)

Sarah J. Braselton of McLean named to Colby College Dean's List.

National Merit Winner

Dylan Kriz of Langley High School, won a National Merit University of South Carolina Scholarship. Dylan was among 17 Fairfax County Public Schools graduates from the class of 2012   named winners of college-sponsored scholarships by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. College-sponsored Merit Scholarships provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.
