Update Aug. 23. Quechee, the missing puppy, was spotted in Langley Farms at 11 a yesterday and at Buchanan street near 123 at 4 pm, according to a note neighbor Marie Vanderhye sent Tuesday morning.

Quechee, a pet of daughter Alexis Vanderhye, disappeared Sunday night. Quechee is a rescue brown and tan german shepherd and perhaps greyhound mix.

"We think she is staying in the neighborhoods between 193 and 123 or perhaps nearby Mackall<" Margie Vanderhe said.

If anyone finds the dog, they should FIRST call animal control at 703-691-2131. They are on the case and have the skills to detain the dog safely.

Original Story Monday. Note from our neighbor Margie Vanderhye: We need your help in finding a lost dog, last seen in Langley Oaks around 7p.m. Sunday, August 21st, running from the Vanderhye residence at 801 Ridge Drive.

Alexis's little puppy Quechee slipped out the door last night and has been seen in and around Langley Oaks. She may be in the woods next to our neighborhood too as she has been taken on hikes there.  She is shy and skittish and will run away if approached.

Alexis is supposed to return with her to Boston today. Quechee is not wearing a collar.

If you see Quechee, please do not approach her, as she is very skittish and will run away.  Please call 703-442-0422, 703-472-5220 or 703-400-6513.

Full Disclosure: Margie Vanderhye and McLean Patch attend the same church.
