Our Neighbors Attend Historic Gathering, New Chamber Leaders . .

People and Goings On Around Our Town

Our Neighbors Join Historic Program: Two of our best known neighbors were on C-SPAN yesterday. Former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Secretary of State Colin Powell joined a panel of their colleagues remembering the first Gulf War.  The leading members of Pres. George Bush's war cabinet: James Baker and Brent Scowcroft and Gen. (ret) Walter E. Boomer,  a field commander in the war.

It was an historic gathering of historic figures who held  a fascinating discussion of the planning, strategy and execution of the 100-hour war that resulted from Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. We highly recommend the program to you.

New Chamber Leaders. Merritt Green, an attorney, took over the chairmanship of the The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce  last week at a reception at the Tysons Corner Hilton.
