Cuteness Alert: Peggy Gives Birth to Six Piglets at Claude Moore Colonial Farm

The farrow is the latest addition to the living history community.

If think life on the farm would be labor-intensive, just imagine how Peggy feels.

Peggy, a sow at Claude Moore Colonial Farm in McLean, gave birth to a litter of six piglets this month. The farm posted the first pictures of the farrow on its Facebook page not long after they were born Thursday night.

More pics were added the following day, with the promise of still more to come as Peggy calms down and lets the farm staff get closer.

The farm's Facebook fans seem to be overcome by the piglets' cuteness, and a few have offered up names.

The farm, at 6310 Georgetown Pike, is a living history community that recreates life in 1771. It's open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays from April until mid-December.
