PRS Nonprofit to Celebrate Derby Day in McLean

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available through April 5 for the early-bird price.

The community nonprofit PRS is holding its 18th Annual Kentucky Derby Benefit May 4 in McLean.

The 18th Annual PRS Kentucky Derby Benefit will be hosted by Fairfax County Supervisor John Foust and Dr. Marilyn Jerome Foust from, 4:30 to 8 p.m. in McLean. The address will be provided upon ticket purchase. Proceeds benefit PRS Inc., a community-based nonprofit that serves adults in Northern Virginia living with mental illness, substance use disorders, mild intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders or any combination of these.

Guests at the benefit will enjoy live music, mint juleps, a shrimp and oyster bar, elegant hors d'oeuvres and delicious desserts in a private home.There’s also an opportunity to wager on the ponies ( a 50/50 raffle) and the viewing of the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby. Guests also will have the chance to bid on unique live and silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets for an assortment of prizes. “PRS is very proud to be celebrating 50 years of hope and recovery,” said PRS President and CEO Wendy Gradison in a statement. “Since our founding in 1963, we have transformed thousands of lives and the funds we raise at this benefit and through other private donations will help us going forward to serve more people in our community who are in need of the intensive skills training and supports PRS provides. We partner with our clients to increase independence, manage disability, and work toward volunteerism, educational opportunities, employment or other valued roles of their choosing.”

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available through April 5 for the early-bird price of $100 each; tickets are $125 each after that date.
