October is Breast Cancer awareness month. So besides shouting “save the ta-tas!” from the rooftops, there are several more practical things we can be doing to support and celebrate all those who have been affected by breast cancer, and those who are diligently working to eradicate this disease.

The first is to do a breast self-exam. (Yes, we’re shouting). It’s a little action that signifies how women can take charge of their own well-being.

The second is to visit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Komen’s website has a comprehensive and inspiring list of ways you can become a warrior in pink.

The third is to make a donation ... by going shopping. Oh, how glorious! Lucky for us here at Joie, we love pink. Scroll through our favorite picks for fighting breast cancer while treating yourself to something special. All selections can be found in McLean or online.
