Parking for 700 Cars Available at McLean Metro Station When Silver Line Opens

Silver Line metro opens July 26.

When the Silver Line opens on July 26, the McLean Station will have plenty of parking available for commuters.

There will be 700 parking spaces available in the CityLine parking lot, a non-Metro facility; the spot is a former MITRE headquarters.

McLean station is the first of the five new Silver Line stations branching off of the existing system, located two miles from central McLean.

North and south side of Route 123, with a pedestrian bridge crossing Route 123. The lot is located at 1820 Dolley Madison Boulevard.

“Eventually Tysons will be a transit-oriented, walkable community with circulator bus systems serving the stations,” said Board Chairman Sharon Bulova in a statement. “In the meantime, however, neighbors of Tysons who wish to take advantage of the new rail stations may need a place to park in order to take the train. CityLine’s interim parking project is a ‘bridge’ solution, designed to encourage ridership on the Silver Line during its early years as development in and around Tysons is filling in.”
