Lines for pony rides come and go. A few exhibitors starting to leave.

The exhibits ranged from budding enterpreneur Danielle Lantonio, there to promote her new "home staging" business, to the CIA, McLean's largest employer.

Jennifer Youngblood,  CIA deputy  director of public affairs: "We are here because we are neighbors. We work in McLean and we consider ourselves your neighbors." She and her colleagues did a brisk business handing our CIA bags with goodies.

One man said the bags probably included a tracking device. Youngblood assured him that the CIA doesn't follow the neighbors.

Danielle Lantonio: "I wanted to reach a lot of the McLean audience. McLean Day draws in thousands of McLean residents."

2011 is an election year. McLean Day for politicans is a like lint to a black jacket. Even candidates who haven't formally announced their candidacies were there.

Craig McKenzie a youth member of the McLean Board was conducting a write-in election to stay on the board.  The 11-member board includes  two youth representatives --- one from the McLea High District and one from the Langley District. McKenzie lives in the McLean district but attends Langley.

9:45 am You can tell that 2011 is an election year. A battalion of campaign signs greet those attending McLean Day today.

Candidates like Barbara Favola, a member of the Arlington County board, is here to introduce herself to McLean voters. Why? Because she's running in the newly created 31st State Senate District which includes Arlington, McLean, Great Falls and part of southern Loudoun County.

Risa Sanders, a McLean Community Center board member running for reelection,  greeted visitors in a blue and white tee shirt bearing her name.

Traffic: Fairfax County police already directing traffic on Chain Bridge Board at the entrance to Lewinsville Park, site of McLean Day.
