WMATA Buses Running Tuesday on Modified Snow Schedule

Hilly areas, narrow streets and other problem areas may not see service.

If you depend on WMATA buses to get around, the company has announced Tuesday morning they are back in business but on a modified schedule due to snowy roads.

Some routes are adjusted Tuesday to avoid hilly, narrow streets; riders are encouraged to check this detailed list of Northern Virginia locations for details.

Metrobus service will transition from the Monday "severe" snow plan to a "moderate" snow service plan, starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Under the moderate snow service plan, all Metrobus routes will have service as of 7 a.m. Tuesday with snow detours in effect to keep buses off of hilly terrain, narrow side streets and other problem areas.

Riders can get details and check maps showing the planned detours by using the links below:

All bus service may experience delays due to road conditions. Bus riders are asked to allow additional time and use extreme caution when traveling. For your safety, you should never stand in the roadway while waiting for a bus.  For delay and detour information affecting individual routes, check the bus alerts page or sign up for MetroAlerts.

In Alexandria, DASH is operating on regular routes with minor delays. Streets not being served are Reading and Rayburn on the AT1 route and Hampton Street on the AT6 route.
