YOUR PHOTOS: McLean Blanketed in Snow Thursday

Plus the forecast for today and Friday.

McLean woke up to a thick blanket of snow Thursday morning after a snowstorm that started Wednesday night that brought about a foot of snow to McLean, according to snow totals posted Thursday morning by the National Weather Service. (Although the NWS does not list McLean, the closest jurisdiction we found, Vienna, listed 12 inches of snow.)

The forecast for Thursday in McLean is for rain and sleet before 3pm, then snow, freezing rain, and sleet. High near 33. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Thursday night forecast is for snow, mainly before 2am. Low around 26. Northwest wind 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. 

Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 1 a.m. Friday for McLean.

Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 1 a.m. Friday for McLean.

Friday is expected to be sunny with a high of 39 degrees.
