British Invasion This Weekend in McLean

The British are coming! This Sunday to McLean Central Park, 1468 Dolley Madison Blvd. For information call 703-790-0123.

That's where The English Channel will perform from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the park, performing tunes by English groups including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones,  The Who, Dusty Springfield and The Moody Blues. Here's a list of the songs the band plays (of course they won't play all of them on Sunday.)

The Richmond-based band's members are: Dr. Bob Quarles/keys, Julie Quarles/vocals, Marion Hodges/lead guitar and vocals, Richard Cowles/bass and vocals, Buzzy Lawler/rhythm guitar and vocals, Bobby "Rico" Antonelli/drums, and Dave Garner/crew chief/sound.

The concert is free and is part of Summer Sunday Concerts in the Park.

Here's a little about The English Channel, from their Facebook page:

"Established in 2001, The English Channel (All English, All the Time) performs the incredible British rock and pop hits of the mid '60s to mid '70s. Each song is meticulously recreated to sound just like the original recording, just like you remember it. The English Channel has wowed audiences of all sizes and all ages in the mid-Atlantic states with its passion and enthusiasm for this music. Tune in to The English Channel. They'll take you back to where you once belonged."
