McLean, my summer home!

This is a post about a perfect day in McLean.

Virginia is an incredible state jam packed with historical significance, cool East Coast culture and family-friendly fun.  Having visited McLean every summer since my childhood, I grew to love and appreciate a lot of different things about McLean.  If I were to spend only one, or two perfect days in McLean, here are the places I would hit up.

McLean Family Restaurant -- This restaurant is a simple diner that feels like home.  The prices are inexpensive and the food is delicious.  This is a great place for breakfast on a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon.  Bring the whole family, and make someone order the Chocolate Chip Pancakes.

Tyson's Corner Center -- Tyson's Corner Center is a great place for shopping.  In fact, this is the biggest shopping center in all of Virginia, and one of the biggest in all of the country.  You can find anything you need here.  After you are done shopping, you can also enjoy a flick at the movie theater.

Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail -- McLean is covered in beautiful trees and if you can get to a hiking area, the beauties in nature will not disappoint you.  My favorite place to picnic and to go for a short trail hike is Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.  There is a lot of ground to explore and it is all gorgeous.

Washington D.C. -- McLean is only about 20 minutes away from Washington D.C. so if you're not headed into the city at a high traffic time, it is easy to visit any of the attractions.  My favorite time to visit D.C. is on a Sunday afternoon in summer time.  It's not as crowded and you can see all the monuments without any rush.
