Chef Jose Andres' latest local venture is open in the Tysons area.
America Eats has opened in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 1700 Tysons Blvd.
America Eats started as a one-year venue with the Foundation for the National Archives back in 2011. It closed in 2012 before reappearing at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner in the space that used to house Michel, Washington Post reported. Chef Jose Andres and the ThinkFoodGroup are behind the venture at 1700 Tysons Boulevard.

The menu is “a sophisticated menu reflecting native ingredients and classic dishes,” according to the restaurant’s website. Items include a seafood bar, country hams, hush puppies, sandwiches, breakfast items and more, with some foods sourced from Virginia and Maryland farmers.
America Eats was supposed to open in the winter, but the grand opening was delayed for unknown reasons. (Photos from the recent grand opening celebration are available on the restaurant’s Facebook page.)
