Cheesecake Factory, Bobby's Burger Palace to Open at Potomac Mills Mall

Construction is anticipated to begin later in May.

Virginia’s largest outlet mall, , will soon get bigger.

The store announced it would be expanding its footprint with exterior, freestanding restaurants between the AMC Potomac Mills Movie Theater and .

Restaurants joining the mall are The Cheesecake Factory and a Virginia first: a Bobby’s Burger Palace, which is a product of celebrity chef Bobby Flay.

This will be the first Cheesecake Factory in Prince William County. A third restaurant will be announced soon, the mall public relations department said.

“Bobby’s Burger Palace offers 10 signature burgers, made with Certified Angus Beef, ground turkey or chicken breast, and a wide variety of sides including beer battered onion rings, milkshakes and more,” mall management wrote in a press release.

The mall's management said a “sophisticated courtyard” would link the restaurants to a pedestrian-friendly pathway to the Potomac Mills physical structure.

“This much anticipated revitalization will feature earthy design treatments such as River stone and decorative wood,” the press release from Potomac Mills read. “New landscaping, lighting features and updated signage will contribute to its welcoming ambience. Construction is anticipated to begin later this month.”

“These exciting new developments meet shopper demand, while adding another dimension to Potomac Mills’ unique brand of shopping,” said Mike Sullivan, general manager of Potomac Mills, in the release. “Our impressive collection of new stores paired with these strong restaurants concepts and exterior enhancements will elevate our already celebrated shopping experience and be a strong catalyst to attract more local residents and visitors from around the world.”

Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th will be relocating during the summer, introducing local shoppers to its innovative "luxury in a loft" store design. The store will move to a new front location between the mall entrance and Costco. The novel layout has been well received and set a new standard in outlet shopping, management said.

Additional stores buybuy Baby and Christmas Tree Shops will be joining Neighborhood 5 in the mall during fall 2013.

The mall commuter , in anticipation of these expansions.

Hate to be a buzzkill, but PWC needs to plan to accomodate the traffic this will cause. This Cheesecake Factory will draw folks from Fredericksburg and Springfield. We are already jammed from Lorton to Stafford. Glad to see better amenities, (Lord knows we have NOTHING right now..thanks for the gigantic fabric store Potomac Mills...good job) But local bumper to bumper traffic every weekend is a big price to pay for a slice of cheesecake....just sayin

Great additions to Potomac mills and the Woodbridge area...way overdue but I can't wait! Also anxiously awaiting the opening of the towne center. Of course it will just mean that I hit up Wegmans even more!

Karen, A portion of Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center is already open. But, the larger portion with most of the retail shops will be opening in October 2012.

PWC needs to continue to increase the number of quality stores and restaurants so that residents don't have to drive to other counties. Not everyone is interested in Potomac Mills shopping in hopes to find a nice suit or something even from the current year. It's so frustrating. There is a demand from the PWC residents. Why do we continue to play second fiddle to Fairfax County. I love the diversity of PWC just not the shopping and restaurant choices when I want to go out for something nice.
