Fairfax County Farmers' Markets Opening Soon: Locations, Days and Times

After a long, cold winter, it's no surprise some people are craving summery foods like peaches, watermelon and corn on the cob.

The Fairfax County Park Authority Farmers Markets start opening May 1 and will continue until it's almost cold enough to snow (November).

"All products sold are produced by vendors within 125 miles of Fairfax County, and brokers or resellers are strictly prohibited. So you can be assured that the produce you purchase at Park Authority Farmers Markets is fresh, locally-grown and consistently good," according to the Fairfax County Parks Authority.

Residents can also take advantage of Fairfax County Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners Plant Clinics at most markets.

The full schedule of Fairfax County Park Authority 2014 Farmers Markets is available through the county's website.
